The solenoid has and IN and OUT, and then the wire running back to the control module. From the Turbo - there is a 90degree bend metal pipe that supples pressure to the solenoid - this is what the IN hose hooks to. The hose (of the T crossmember) that goes toward the midline of the car comes from the turbo, and the one that comes from the gold can is your OUT hose. I dont have mine on the car anymore, but if you just look at them, or want to post a pic of the stock setup, i will copy it and doctor the hoses with lables for you. - DC Then I might get more than.5 bar and enjoy the car a little more. I can make it show up, but without the manual I'm not sure how to save the setting into memory. Right now the car will shut off with no turbo timer working, the thing stays at 0.00 all the time. I've also read there's some other features built into this thing, I just can't find a manual anywhere on the net. Thanks for the help, Sam I think it is in my car.I can read none of the above languages - english spanish and portuguese only. Solenoid is big and and PITA to mount cleanly, but for an entry-level EBC, it works really well. I miss being able to switch boost levels on the fly, and its a lot easier than tuning it by drivng, pop hood, fiddle, drive, pop hood fiddle, etc, etc. - DC I haven't installed mine yet and I'm still unclear as to which diagram applies to my car. I believe there are three in the manual. Do you remember? Thanks, Sam The “Timer A” will be displayed. Now that that is said on to the directions. Not as helpful but someone might want to know: I used Blue butt connectors just like SRT ACE did. 1. First unscrew the two screws that hold on the steering wheel column. They are located under the steering column. 2. Pull them apart and ease them out by adjusting the tilt up or down. 3. Now unscrew the two screws at the bottom of the kick panel under the steering wheel and pull out towards you gently. It should start to pop out and you feel some resistance at the top where there are 2 clips that hold it to the curve plastic gauge bezel and the 2 to the dash. They should easily pop out without much pressure. 4. Next pull the red clips on the top of the black and grey plugs and push the second clips on the plugs to release them. 5. The harness from the Blitz FATT DC Turbo Timer has 5 wires. The 2 black wires will be grounded to some metal on the car. I chose a screw in the wall of the of the fuse box on the left of the dash. 6. Next splice the red wire from the TT harness to the thick red wire on the black plug. If you are looking at the plug it will be pin 1. 7. Now splice the green wire from the TT harness into the light (sky) blue wire. It should be pin 2. 8. Splice the Blue wire into the Black wire with the white stripe. Should be Pin 7. 9. Now fine the batch wires in the passenger wheel well.

This is the Emergency Brake wire. If you decide not to use this make sure you ground it or the TT will not work. 10. Reconnect the battery and connect the TT to the harness and test it to make sure it works before putting it all back together again. 11. Run the wires behind the dash and mount the TT box somewhere you are comfortable with. The inside wall of the fuse box right in-front of your left knee. 12. Now mount the TT Control Panel (the part with the screen and buttons) somewhere on your dash where you can access it. I chose the spot right above the left vent to the left of the steering wheel. 13. Put the dash back together in the opposite order as stated above and you are done. I am posting these same instructions with some pics on my Cardomain site so visit there if you need any additional help. You can PM me as well. I am sure that this can be applied to some of the other Blitz TT's installations. Not sure which ones though since I don't own them. Good luck and I hope this helps. I don't recommend following the Blitz instructions for wiring in the HOW TO: TT installation by SRT ACE. They can be found on page 7 of the thread. I used that and blew a fuse in the engine compartment. I recommend using these or the Greddy instructions. I just leave it set at 2-3 mins for cool down. Installation was straight forward but I've decided to add a few comments to help out future buyers. First you park your car on a level surface, set parking brake, chock the rear wheels, jack up the front passenger side of the car. It is possible, and might actually be easier, to do this work with the LCAs installed. This would use the car to hold them steady as you pressed out and pressed in the ball joint. Oh well, live and learn. STEP 1: Remove shift ball and boot. Pull up quickly and hard.

Search Installing A Blitz Dual Turbo Timer Time To Time the Turbo. By Tyrone Rodriguez Updated: 20 Jun 2012 10:05 pm Posted: 29 Jan 2003 8:00 am Whether you've purchased a factory-equipped turbocharged vehicle or introduced a bit of forced induction to an existing powerplant, the first mod we suggest may not be the one you expected or want to hear. This component isn't a larger downpipe or front mount intercooler, but the often-neglected turbo timer. If you don't already know, oils that lubricate and cool the turbo bearings can become trapped within the slug, this is far from good. Over time this oil will harden and damage the turbo. Nothing looks dorkier than being a human turbo timer, but allowing the turbine and oil cool down is a must. That's where the turbo timer comes into play; by leaving the engine running for a few seconds or minutes, a turbo timer can preserve and extend the life of that muy expensive turbo you love so much. That's why we've taken the time to install a Blitz Dual Turbo Timer into our project 240SX. Since this little handy dandy turbo timer also doubles as a boost gauge, we've killed two birds with one stone. Already intimate with Skylines and SR swaps, we felt that Motorex was more than qualified to install the nifty-looking Blitz DTT. Chief tech, Ken Flores was kind enough to walk us through a procedure that shouldn't take even a beginner more than an afternoon, given all the necessary tools and equipment are at the ready.

Be aware though peeps if you do the same as I have, that there are only 5 wires in the S13 harness and you will need 6 wires for the S14a. I bought my Blitz Dual DC Turbo Timer in Japan, so my instruction manual is useless (I did manage to install it, but there are still some functions I can't figure out.) Arigato very much ! If you can wait just 2 days, and come back on August 1st, they will be up again.

As with any install, you are the only person who can determine whether or not you are qualified to properly install this device. Should you have any questions or concerns, we recommend you seek the advice of a local shop. It's better to be safe than sorry. 2. Now, determine where the turbo timer works best for you. In our case, we chose the S14's ashtray---nice little sleeper style. We can modify the timer settings by opening up the tray and hide the unit as not to attract unwanted attention. 3. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the ignition cover. In our application, we only needed to remove the lower ignition cover. In our case, Ken custom fabbed a compatible harness. We found a perfect spot on the firewall. Try to avoid an area where the grounds may be accidentally stepped or yanked. 7. Use some electric tape to clean up the wires and hide the control module. You won't want anything exposed. 8. Connect the loose purple wire to the hand brake; used the supplied hardware to wire the hand brake wire. This is a security measure. When the vehicle is stopped and ignition is removed, the turbo timer will only activate if the hand brake is engaged. Should someone break in and disengage the hand brake, the engine will shut off. 9. If you don't want a boost reading, you're done, connect the display to the control module, connect the battery and you're good to go. However, should you want a boost reading, a little more work is necessary. 10. Connect the vacuum line to the control module and locate a spot on the firewall to feed the line through; if there is no suitable spot on the firewall to pass the vacuum you'll need to drill a hole. Drivability will suffer should there be a leak in the lines. 12. Viola! All your hard work has paid off. Not only will you have a reliable turbo timer, but a boost reading---particularly useful for maintenance purposes. I think the harness that was included was for an S13, so.

Route the orange wire back along under the glove box, and down to your ECU. Use another tap, and tap it into the speed sensor wire. 4. They are also generally applicable to the 724 Series and 725 Series turbo timers. These do not have a green (parking brake interface wire) and references to the green wire in these installation instructions should be ignored. In some cases a 10 mm diameter hole may be required to pass the cable through the dashboard panel. The double sided tape is a high strength type which is capable of withstanding the very high temperatures that may be encountered in a parked vehicle. Check the switch itself for a built-in connector. If this feature is not required, connect the green wire to negative. Not for Kenworth applications. If the park brake connection is not required, earth the green wire. Maximum load on timer blue wire: 10 Amps If the park brake connection is not required, earth the green wire. Connect the yellow wire as required. This may be to the second ignition circuit, accessories or battery isolator. Maximum load on each timer output: 10 Amps If the park brake connection is not required, earth the green wire.

Twin white wire is used to interrupt voltage supply to the EDIC (shutdown) motor during the idle period. Maximum load on timer blue wire: 10 Amps Maximum load on timer blue wire: 10 Amps For Kenworth applications refer to the separate installation instructions provided. This may be to the second ignition circuit, accessories or battery isolator. If the park brake connection is not required, earth the green wire. Maximum load on each timer output: 10 Amps Employing an external relay to carry these loads not only isolates the timer from the load itself, but also from the voltage spikes often associated with high current switching. Use only a good quality, spike protected relay.Refer to separate installation instructions for 925 Series turbo timers. The idle timer black wire must be connected to an effective vehicle earth. The idle timer green wire must be connected to the machine parking brake or an effective earth. Ensure that the load on any one timer output does not exceed 10 amps. The idle timer will not operate until the engine has been running for at least 30 seconds. Operating Voltage: 12 - 32 Volts DC Maximum Current Drain (per circuit): 10 Amps Selectable Idle Periods: 30 Seconds to 30 Minutes Reverse polarity protection is provided. The idle timer stop switch is waterproof and may be mounted in an exposed position. The switch may be panel mounted using a 16 mm hole or it can be mounted on the bracket supplied. The stop switch nameplate is self adhesive. The timer module can be mounted in a convenient location behind the control panel. To select an idle period the blue rotary switch on the PCB is adjusted with a small screwdriver. The timer green wire connects to the park brake as shown in the diagram below. This allows the timer to work only if the park brake is applied. If the park brake is released during the idle period the timer will cancel immediately and the engine will stop. This will allow normal timer operation.

Maximum load on timer blue wire: 10 Amps This may be to the second ignition circuit, accessories or battery isolator. If the park brake connection is not required, earth the green wire. Maximum load on each timer output: 10 Amps Maximum load on each timer output: 10 Amps This prevents unwanted timer operation if the engine is started accidentally. This only applies to the remote itself (on the ignition key or key ring). This is to prevent unwanted flashing of indicators or sounding of the horn while driving. The vehicle may still be locked using the ignition key at the driver's door, accessing the central locking. Turn ignition OFF. This default idle period will remain even if the vehicle battery is disconnected. Turn ignition OFF. The idle period is now released. This allows the timer to operate only if the park brake is applied.

Of course, it depends on the Gain setting, as a higher Gain value will produce more overboost. A good amount of Ratio to be reduced is always about 10% of the already stored settings (calculate the middle of all four). There's no need to store the values. You can still turn the Mode knob to select another preset or other modes. Now push and hold the Mode knob for about 2 seconds. Then a beep confirms the action and all Ratio presets as well the M sign start flashing. You're ready to set the Gain value (only one for all presets) Now turn the Volume knob to in- or decrease the Gain. In this mode you can always jump between the settings by turning the Mode knob. Simply push the Mode knob again to store the new Gain. If one of the presets is still blinking just push the Mode knob again. Start with a setting of 5 and increase this step by step during testing. A value between 20 and 30 for single turbos and 5 - 15 for twins or sequential systems is very common. Please note, the higher the Gain the more the danger to overboost as boost rises quicker than the system can respond to. Quick boost rise is good but too much hurts. You have to find the best value for your car by yourself.

But not sure if I was holding 16psi or just hit it. Then made a ch4 setting of set 23 gain 7 just for a test and it was 14.2 I think, need to test more, burning through the fuel after all this testing. I think all these settings are pretty good, just need to tune them in so I have a range of settings, stock boost, 13.0 psi, 14.5psi, 16psi.The ch3 setting I got about 16psi (just under), have to test that one a little more, warning set to 15.5 psi, I never hit boost cut. Can't wait to get bcc now, I hit boost cut Has to hold that boost for a little until it cuts. Need bcc! If i get on the dyno and it hits 17psi then boost cuts will I still get a peak reading. Or am I going to have to stick with 14.5psi or get a bcc in time. How did you go with yours Billy. Haven't had a chance to really drive the car, it's in the workshop getting side skirts fitted, I'm not going above 16psi, because I'm still running SEQ Turbo Operation, once I've done the ETTC mod, i'd be more willing to take it upto 18psi every now and then again.! I'll post up here after I've got my car back. Can anyone recommend or teach me settings for my car.NINJA EDIT: also, keep in mind that there is a simpler method offered on the ID3 unit that won't work as you have standard twins. It had initially been set on automatic, changed to Manual and fiddled with whatever the previous owners settings, then disconnected battery and lost them. Will give this a go tonight, will be interesting for me to see what stock PSI it runs. Cheers.

It was a combo of 2 things which caused the problem, first thing was the intercooler pipe which bolts to the turbo was loose so the boost pressure was leaking out and the other problem was, the vac pipe which comes from the SBC had come off the T in the engine bay hence the boost pressure not showing on the SBC. It needs to be open all the time until you hit the target pressure, then close to prevent the top port from seeing pressure so the WG will open. It sounds like you need to tell the boost controller which mode to function in or else the WG may never open. Manual mode works pretty well, I get 1 psi differences. Wondering if you guys had any luck using the auto mode and wanted to know how well it works in maintaining boost. My boost fluctuates between 16.5-18.4psi. Usaully the first boost run, i can achieve the most boost then it climbs back down after a few pulls unless i up the boost. Weird. I should be good based on the double spring rule since I want to run a solid 17 psi. Unless you guys think that since I'm close to my limit of boost range on the spring. It looks like I just need to work on tuning the Blitz sbc to hold boost better. Redfogo I've been using the manual mode, do you have any luck using the auto mode? You just need to set it up like I said before. Pick what ever psi you want and it should set it self up just fine after a pull or 2. I have the vacuum lines plumbed as you all stated. Looks like I just need to setup the blitz sbc. I'll try the auto mode this afternoon. I read about the limiter feature which I need to set up as well as it is cable of correcting the boost. I have had some bad luck following this blitz instructional diagram in the past as my boost would only hold half of the time. If it doesn't hold, the boost will spike outrageously from the set 15psi to 23-30psi in less than a second. I don't know what i did wrong but before i altered with the hoses, the ebc held boost just fine Can someone with the blitz sbc please show me how they wired the vacuum hoses. Thanks in advance! I've never used the blitz, so I don't know how the solenoid is meant to actuate, but the manual here seems pretty clear for an EWG setup - I've never used the blitz, so I don't know how the solenoid is meant to actuate, but the manual here seems pretty clear for an EWG setup - Is it okay to make a t on the connection using the nipple that is on the hot pipe and under the bov? (gen3). I don't have a port to tap into on my turbo:thumbdown Also, can i connect the IN port after the throttle body like in the intake manifold. If not, Is it ideal to tap it into one of the lines on the bov? In the scenario with leaving the top port open to atmosphere, the EBC solenoid needs to block the wastegate from seeing the hotpipe pressure until the point it hits your target pressure. It will then allow the pressure to pass to the WG to open. In the scenario from the blitz manual where you are connecting the bottom port directly connected to the hotpipe, then connecting off that pressure source to the solenoid to the top WG port, the actuator needs to behave the opposite of the first scenario.

(i lost the sheet which told me ) could someone tell me what is commonly used for the RB25DET.In manual mode you need to enter 2 numbers: SET and GAIN. Increment the SET by 10 with each run till you reach the boost level you want. Write down your boost vs. SET for future reference, in case you want to change your boost in the future. If you overshoot the boost you want to reach, just back it down and fine tune as necessary. Now that you have figured out the SET (boost ratio) that will give you the boost level you want, the next thing to do is to work out the gain: 3. Make runs in lower gear (1st or 2nd), increment GAIN by 5 with each run till you see boost spikes. Then fine tune it till there is little or no boost spike. This is your optimum gain setting for that boost level. The reason why you should use the lower gear now is because boost builds much quicker in the lower gears, so there is a higher tendency to boost spike.

When setting your boost controller, always have a passenger set the controller and watch the boost gauge for you, the driver should keep his eyes on the road. Common problem Sometimes if the gain is set too high, it may appear to have the same effect as the duty cycle. If you notice (especially in the higher gears) that you initially hit the boost level you want, but then it starts tapering off, then you might have set the GAIN too high and SET too low. This page should help the user to understand how to set up the DSBC and to understand how to tune it in. Many pictures are scanned from the original manual and have been edited to show what the user will get in reality. Disclaimer: The author is assuming that you are a licensed and certified expert in the automotive and turbocharging field. Also it is necessary that the Blitz DSBC is properly installed and working perfect. Turning the Volume knob does not do anything as you'll also not hear any beep. If you change a setting or any display you'll hear a beep for confirmation of the action. Pushing the Volume button selects the display to be shown The figures in the Real Time Boost Monitor are changing very quickly but it helps a lot when checking sustained boost or testing the vacuum. Only this really shows you a scramble or any wavy behavior of the boost. Pushing the Mode button causes no action on this display mode. Peak Hold Monitor is updated whenever the boost exceeds the highest measure it has already stored. There's only one peak available (for all settings and modes). The stored value can be cleared by pushing the Mode button when peak is shown on the display. The SET marker indicates that this is a value that can be changed. Choose between one of the 4 Ratio presets. Set the DSBC to OFF with this Mode only. Boost meter and peak hold are still working to check stock behavior. Setting a limit causes a beep when it is reached. Check my rebuild page for the results when overboosting way too much.

Set the limiter to a safe boost level to be warned. This level must be determined by yourself and depends heavily on our modifications and the health of the engine. When this level is reached, the Ratio will be reduced by the amount of the set limiter ratio value until boost becomes lower than this level. Please note that this can cause a very wavy boost behavior and is probably not what you want. Also try to get a setting that reduces the Ratio not more than 5-10% of the chosen Ratio setting. Therefore choosing the R48 setting and reducing the Ratio by -2 when hitting the limiter is a good idea to get faster boost build-up and better max boost. The warn beep-beep kicks in and reduces boost until it is lower than 1.05bars. Ratio will come back again then to provide the maximum boost, but without the limiter kicks in again. Summarize: - The WARN (limiter) function is a life-safer for your engine - The current set Ratio will be reduced by the stored amount when the limiter is hit, a beep-beep is hearable then - Ratio comes back when boost falls below the warn level - prevent a wavy boost behavior It is essential to set this at first as it will prevent you from damaging anything in your engine during your first plays with the car. Start with a lower value of around 1.00bars and reduce Ratio by 10 points when the limiter is hit. For this do the following: Turn the Mode knob until you're getting the red display with the WARN icon blinking. It is either showing a boost value like 0.00 or a Ratio reduction like -10. Pushing the Volume knob selects between the desired warning level of the boost and the Ratio to be reduced when reaching the limiter. Choose the boost warn at first. Turning the Volume knob increases or decreases the desired level. When done, push the Volume knob again to jump to the limiter Ratio display. Please note, if you're running a low Ratio of around 30 and reduce it to 20 on the limiter, the amount of boost will be reduced by about 30% !!

This can cause you loosing power for a short time. Of course, it depends on the Gain setting, as a higher Gain value will produce more overboost. A good amount of Ratio to be reduced is always about 10% of the already stored settings (calculate the middle of all four). There's no need to store the values. It helps to understand that the DSBC is able to alternate its two valves very quickly, especially when compared to other systems with only one larger valve. WIth this the DSBC is able to increase boost very quick. With setting the Gain you are defining how quick the boost rises. It's in your hand to accept a small overboost but reducing the Ratio to a healthy boost level when hitting the limiter. Typically, a Twin -Turbo system creates quicker boost than others due to the smaller turbos. Also sequential turbo systems and designs with vacuum canisters are made to get full boost very quick. The GAIN setting on such systems is much lower than on cars with single turbos. We now know that the higher the Gain setting is the faster the turbos build up boost. This is simply done by starting to open the wastegates later, i.e. starting to alternate the Blitz solenoids. The Ratio then controls the length the solenoids stay open (frequency). Looking at the table in the DSBC manual didn't helped yet, but the longer it takes the more understandable it becomes Please take it for a short look at it: The first line with GAIN describes the Gain setting for these cars (180SX,Skyline, GT-R, Chaser, Supra TT, RX-7, Lancer EVO) while the next lines describe the Ratio to achieve the pressure in the first column. Please note, that there is a major typo as the 0.10kg should read 1.0 kg and so on The problem was now that we had good results with G30 even without a lot overboost when launching. But due to the table the car should overboost a lot. Then boost was already there and the turbos where at their speed. Now I floored the pedal and boost made a huge jump up to 1.

35 bars at different rpms (gears). This may not happen when driving around normally and depends on the type of your car ! Testing on a 3000GT VR4 showed any higher Gain than 36 did not help anymore. Therefore 100% means that the wastegates will never open, but 0% does not mean that they are stuck open. In reality the wastegate actuators are preload with the internal spring pressure and boost must exceed a specific level until they open the wastegates. You can set Gain to 0 and any Ratio to determine what your system creates. But be careful when increasing Gain then as the pressure rises much quicker then and you'll run into an overboost situation. Always reduce the Ratio at the first run when Gain was increased before. You can still turn the Mode knob to select another preset or other modes. Ratio represents the percentage of the maximum outlet a system can produce. Therefore you can choose a 0 Gain but a very high Ratio to achieve a good boost. But you'll also note a slow boost increase. Typical settings for ratio are between 40 and 60. Now push Mode knob and the selected Ratio preset starts flashing.
